Lavezzi has a stock in Milan and between Vigevano (PV) and Pavia, and a strain between Rovigoto and Ferrara in Rovigo, Castelmassa and Occhiobello in the Rovigoto and Argenta and Ferrara in the Ferrara area, Lavezzo has a stock in Rovigo and Badia Polesine (RO) with significant presences also in Chioggia and a strain between Milanese, Pavia and Alessandria, could derive from nicknames originated from the term lavezzo (type of ollare stone a very tender variety of serpentine, with a high percentage of talc or chlorite) or from lavezzi receptacles from fire, truncated conical turned of soapstone, probably referring to craftsmen specialized in their workmanship or traders who sold that type of product.
