LAVIER | LAVIERE | LAVIERI | LAVIERO

Laviere would seem unique, as well as Lavier, Lavieri is typical of the Potentine, of Tramutola in particular and of Marsicovetere and Corleto Perticara, Laviero is always Lucanian, but more specific than Salandra in the Matera area, they should be surnames derived from the Italianization of the French surname of Burgundy Lavier, probably of Norman origins, a surname which in turn should derive from the French medieval term lave (flat, flat stone) and would have been to indicate the craft of stone quarryman perhaps carried out by the founders.
