MONTICONE | MONTICONI

Monticone is typically Piedmontese, of Turin and, above all of the Asti area, of San Damiano d'Asti, Asti and Ferrere, Monticoni, almost unique, also Piedmontese, is probably due to incorrect transcriptions of the previous one, should derive from a dialect nickname Piedmontese referring to a mountain origin of the founders. In Tigliole in the Asti area we find traces of these surnames in the early 1700s with various De Monticonis families.
