NOE | NOE'

Noe, very very rare, is probably a modified form of transcription errors of the surname Noè, which has a large stock in central-west Lombardy, a stock in Turin, one in the Venetian dialect, a stock in the Roman dialect and one in the Cosenza area, but has small strains autonomous also elsewhere around the peninsula, and in Sicily, they should derive from the name Noè brought by the progenitor, a name derived from the Hebrew name Noah (consolation), anciently attributed to the sons because they were favored by the Lord.
