Padoa. Padoani, Padoano and Paduani are absolutely rare, but they are probably attributable to the Veneto area of Friuli, Padoan is widespread in the three Venetians, in Veneto and in Venetian in particular, Padua has a nucleus in Scicli in Ragusa and one among the provinces of Rome and Latina, should derive from the toponym Padua, Padua in medieval Latin or from its ethnic Paduano, but it is also identifiable a Padoano proper medieval name, as evidenced by this Carta venditionis of the year 1199 in Cortenova (LC): "Anno dominice incarnacionis milleximo centeximo nonageximo ninth, last die aprilis, second secundum Investit for market nominations vendicionis Guifredus de Osa civitatis Mediolani, pro se et Padoano et Lodorengo atque Uberto fratribus suis de eadem civitate Mediolani, presbiterum Guilielmum offitialle ecclesie Sancti Alexandri que est located in Curtenova ., we find traces of these surnames in Rome in 1380: "... Domina Ioanna uxor Aleonti Ypoliti, aliases P aduani de parochia sancti Laurentii de piscibus ... ".
