PAURI | PAURO

Pauri has a stock in the anconetan, mainly in Ancona, and one in Rome, Pauro is typical instead of the Paduan of San Giorgio delle Pertiche and of Campodarsego, they could derive from dialectal modifications of the Latin cognomen Paulus, the substitution of the l with the king vice versa it is not rare especially in the dialects of the centronord, for example we think of the Roman word deaf instead of money. We find traces of these surnames in the Marche region in the second half of the 1700s with a certain Pietro Pauri, in the same period in Falconara (AN) the Pauri family held important positions also obtaining the position of Prior, in 1808 Antonio Pauri was nominated among the Savi of Falconara which belongs together with the podestà to govern the territory.
