PICOZZA | PICOZZI

Picozza is specific to Priverno (LT), Picozzi has a Lombard lineage in Milan, Limbiate and Cesate, in the Brescia area of Quinzano D`oglio and Manerbio and in Saronno (VA), it has a strain in the Caserta area of Maddaloni and Caserta, which could derive from hypocoristic of the name, Italian medieval nickname Picus (see Pichi), but it is also possible a more recent origin from nicknames originated from a trade that leads to the use of the pickaxe.
