PISCITELLI | PISCITELLO

Piscitelli is widespread throughout central and southern Peninsular Italy, in the Roman, Caserta and Neapolitan, in the Bari area and in the Crotone area in particular, Piscitello is typically Sicilian, from the northern part of the island, from Palermo and Messina, should derive from dialectal nicknames related to fishing, or at least to fish, we find illustrious traces of this surname in the 1500s with Ettore Piscitelli archbishop of Lanciano in Theatine from 1568 to 1569.
