Scagliola has a stump in Naples, one in Terlizzi (BA), one in Rome and strains of Canelli and Calosso in Asti, Turin, Alba (CN) and Alexandria, and in Genoa, Scaglioli is almost unique, Scaiola is typical of Piedmont, the Alexandrian in particular, Pareto and Spigno Monferrato and Turin, has strains also in Lombardy, Sajola is absolutely rare, should all derive from nicknames generated by being the founder of a master craftsman who used the Scagliola (type of chalk) in his work.
