SCIARRINO

Sciarrino is typically Sicilian, Palermo and Carini in the Palermitano, Riesi in Nyssa and Marsala in Trapani, should derive from a nickname attributed to the founder, originated from the dialect Sicilian Sciarrino (litigious, brawler) ( See also SCIARRA), probably to emphasize an aspect of its character, we reoare traces of this cognitive in Sciacca in the Agrigentino since 1500 when there are traces of weddings carried out by delle Sciarrino with local noble families, Valledolmo in Palermo since the second half of 1700 with Rosario Sciarrino Mèndola, surveyor, in the second half of 1800 the notary Giovanni Sciarrino always works in Palermo.
