Viezzi, is specific to Udinese, of Majano, Udine, Fiumicello, Colloredo of Monte Albano and Rive D'arcano, and of Trieste, Viezzoli is specific to Trieste, where it is widespread and of Muggia, should all derive, directly or through a hypochoral form from A dialectal alteration of the Latin name Vetius (see VEZIO) The Viezzi or Vezzi, originating in Carnia, were counted among the Venetian patricians. Additions provided by Giovanni Vezzelli Viézzoli is Trieste's surname. The handwriting Viezoli of 1521 passed then to Viezzoli in 1593, was imposed in this last form only at the end of ' 700 and as such continues today.
