VIOTTI | VIOTTO

Viotti is quite rare, with strains in the north in Piedmont, Liguria and Lombardy, with strains also in Lazio and Calabria, Viotto has a strain in Turin and one between Treviso and Veneziano, in some cases may derive from names of places such as Viotto di Scalenghe (to) , but most likely derive from modifications of the medieval name Vitus. Traces of this cognitive we find them in Parma in the second half of 1400 with the bookseller and printer Zan Maria Viottus in a written reads that in 1507 existed in Parma, near the Piazza Grande: "... A Heredi workshop by Zan Maria Viotto
