The Caval belonged to the Fornetti. Jacopo to whom King Alfonso of Aragon surrendered in 1435 as ruler of Scio, and Admiral Brizio who ran the beach of Oneglia in 1491 chasing the Pirates. In the bibliographic research of this family, various authors have made mention of it. GA Ascheri, in the work he undertook and performed "Historical news about families in hotels in Genoa, printed in Genoa by Faziola in 1846", is of Italian origin, passed to Genoa, between the fifteenth and seventeenth centuries. Few are the cities, which boast noble families that are as old as those in Liguria, as despite the events of the times it still has many families within it, which prove their genealogy from father to son through the notarial deeds from the mid-twelfth century until these days, that is, from an era that serves as a barrier to almost all families in Europe.
