Counts of Puebla originating in Spain and related to the descendants of Christopher Columbus. Peter knight of St. James and captain of Emperor Charles VI; Antonio with cesarean dispatch 29 July 1722, made citizen of the state of Milan with exemption from any tax, was general of infantry and artillery; another Antonio, governor, intimate councilor of state, marquis of Castano and Buscate; Giovanni Bishop of Mantua; and Diego knight of S. Giacomo and Maggiore. The latter three had their sepulcher in S. Michele alla Chiusa, but in 1768 their ashes were transported to Milan and buried in the noble chapel of their family in the Church of S. Bernardino alle Ossa, where their weapon is still found carved in marble. Coat of Arms of family: Inquartato; in the first of red, at the golden tower, open and with windows of the field, and turreted with three pieces; in the second silver, to the red lion; in the third to the sea of rippled green and sown with islets and golden rocks; in the quarter of blue, five gold anchors; 3 and 2, placed on the pole; with the split point of red and silver, on the blue band, on the silver. On the whole a silver shield with five blue shields, each loaded with five silver bisant, merchants in the center of a black point, ordered in the cross of S. Andrea; said red-bordered shield with seven gold castles, 3 on the head and 2 on each side.
