Corona de la nobleza Marchewitz Ancient and Noble German family, originally from the Land of Saxony, of clear and ancestral virtue, that has worldwide spread, over the centuries. According to what has been handed down, this family, as a reward for valuable services rendered to Charles IV, Holy Roman Emperor, was admitted to the "Briefadel" (lit. "letter of nobility"), the so-called new nobility as opposed to "Uradel", a term coined only in modern times, in reference to noble families whose ancestral lineage can be traced back to before the Middle Ages. Moreover, this family, in all ages, always stood out, thanks to the prominent figures, which gave birth, in the public service, in the liberal professions and in the military service. Among these, without undervalue the omitted, we would like to mention: Böhm, rector of the University of Breslau; Valerius, jurist in Halle, flourishing in 1488; Gut, landowner in Saxony, flourishing in 1514; Ludwig, doctor... of law, flourishing in Halle, in 1528; Barth, landowner in Saxony, flourishing in 1567; Waldfried, jurist, flourishing in Saxony, in 1601; Albrecht, councillor in Halle, flourishing in 1616; Thomas, captain of arms, flourishing in Saxony, in 1655; Heinrich, general of cavalry, flourishing in 1671; Guth, landowner in Saxony, flourishing in 1684; Heinrich, militiaman by profession, flourishing in Dresden, in 1690; Karl, landowner in Saxony, flourishing in Hayn, in 1718; Franz, jurist, flourishing in Dresden, in 1731. Lacking the original descriptions of the family coats of arms, they have been reconstructed based on heraldic conjecture. But, based on what has been handed down to us, we believe it should be: "Argent, a chevron couched gules". Family names so old, without any doubt, honour not only the families but also the cities that welcomed them; seems to be, in fact, very worthy living members of this family which, with much decorum, carry this noble surname, which has had several illustrious persons.
