the liberal and ecclesiastical professions and in the military service. Among these, without undervalue the omitted, we would like to mention: Luigi, landowner in Lombardy, flourishing in Pavia, in 1503; Antonio and Federico, captains of arms, flourishing in Pavia, in 1525; Giacomo, doctor in "utroque jure", flourishing in Pavia, in 1534; Gio. Batta, landowner in Lombardy, flourishing in 1548; Giulio Maria, notary in Pavia, flourishing in 1563; Fr Benedetto, of the Order of Preachers, flourishing in 1589; Federico, doctor in "utroque jure", flourishing in Milan, in 1616; Leonardo, doctor in both laws, flourishing in Pavia, in 1627; Otto, captain of arms, flourishing in Milan, in 1642; Luigi Antonio, councillor in Pavia, flourishing in 1657; D. Agostino, canon and apostolic commissioner, flourishing in Naples, in 1682; Tommaso Maria, doctor in both laws, flourishing in Milan, in 1711; Fr Carlo, of the Order of Minors Reformed, flourishing in 1727; Federico, landowner in Southern Italy, who settled his family in Campania, flourishing in 1741; Federico Maria, jurist in Milan, living in 1765. Family names so old, without any doubt honour not only families but also the cities that welcomed them; seems to be, in fact, very worthy the living members of this family which, with much decorum, carry this noble surname, which has had several illustrious members.
