Ancient and very noble Calabrian family, of clear and ancestral virtue, which has spread over the centuries in various regions of Italy and the world. Initially known as Hermogida, later to become Armogida or Ermogida, it was the main residence in Calabria Ultra and, precisely, in the city of Catanzaro where it is already among the ancient and noble ones in 1639, when Filippo Hermogida flourished, with all his descendants, was confirmed in the his ancestral nobility. This lineage is in fact of even more ancient origin since in 1516 the master mason Antonio Hermogida flourished in Squillace (Catanzaro) while in 1569 the noblewoman Diana Hermogida, wife of the noble Consalvo Linares, flourished in Gioiosa Ionica.
