Ancienne et très noble famille calabraise, de vertu claire et ancestrale, qui s'est répandue au cours des siècles dans diverses régions d'Italie et du monde. Initialement connue sous le nom d'Hermogida, qui deviendra plus tard Armogida ou Ermogida, elle était la résidence principale de Calabre Ultra et, précisément, de la ville de Catanzaro où elle fait déjà partie des anciens et des nobles en 1639, lorsque Filippo Hermogida a prospéré, avec tout son descendants, s'est confirmé dans sa noblesse ancestrale. Cette famille est en fait d'origine encore plus ancienne puisqu'en 1516 le maître maçon Antonio Hermogida a prospéré à Squillace (Catanzaro) tandis qu'en 1569 la noble Diana Hermogida, épouse du noble Consalvo Linares, a prospéré à Gioiosa Ionica. Cependant, il convient de noter que la forme originale du nom de famille n'est pas toujours restée intacte au cours des siècles avec son orthographe primitive.
