Antica ed assai nobile famiglia del Trentino Alto-Adige, originaria di Folgaria ma poi passata in Trento, di chiara ed avita virtù, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia e del Nord Europa. I primi riferimenti al casato si hanno già nel 1285. In un documento dell'epoca, infatti, vengono nominati uno Janese ed un Bruno da Eco. Successivamente, in una carta del 1366, si trovano menzionati un “Matteo Quondam Cristano” ed un Pietro da Eco. I membri di tal casato, chiamati Eccher Dall'Eco sin almeno dal secolo decimosettimo, erano ministeriali e vicari dei signori di castel Beseno, sull'altopiano di Folgaria. In Folgaria la loro casa si trovava in località “La Guardia” ma essi erano anche proprietari di una feudo in cui si trovava un’edicola con l’effige della Madonna e il Bambino, oggi conservata nella chiesa parrocchiale. Inquartato: alla croce patente (o gigliata) d'azzurro sulla inquartatura; nel primo e quarto di nero a due frecce piumate di argento e poste in decusse; nel secondo e terzo d'oro al turco, nel terzo punto rivoltato, con faretra in spalla e scimitarra al fianco con arco teso e freccia in mano in atto di scagliarla in sù, con turbante rosso in testa; sul tutto d'oro alla Vergine circonfusa di gloria, tenente nella mano destra lo scettro; sul braccio sinistro il Bambino Gesù. Elmo coronato. Cimiero: il turco del 2°. Svolazzi a destra d'oro e di nero, a sinistra d'oro e di rosso.
