Die ersten Hinweise auf die Familie stammen bereits aus dem Jahr 1285. In einem damaligen Dokument werden tatsächlich ein Janese und ein Bruno da Eco genannt. Anschließend werden auf einer Karte von 1366 ein "Matteo Quondam Cristano" und ein Pietro da Eco erwähnt. Die Mitglieder dieser Familie, seit mindestens dem 17. Jahrhundert Eccher Dall'Eco genannt, waren Minister und Vikare der Herren von Castel Beseno auf dem Folgaria-Plateau. In Folgaria befand sich ihr Haus in "La Guardia", aber sie besaßen auch ein Lehen, in dem sich ein Zeitungskiosk mit dem Bildnis der Madonna und des Kindes befand, das heute in der Pfarrkirche aufbewahrt wird.
