Alte und berühmte Anconitan-Familie, deren Ursprünge bis ins 9. Jahrhundert zurückverfolgt werden können, und genau in der Grafschaft Ferrette oder Pfirt im Elsass. Es ist eine Tradition, gemeinsame Ursprünge mit den Habsburgern zu haben, und die Abstammung der adeligen Agilofingi-Linie wird jenem Antonio Ferretti zugeschrieben, der um 1225 nach Italien kam und dort seinen Hauptsitz in der Ebene von Ronchi in Chiaravalle und Falconara Marittima errichtete von Ancona und initiierte die Menschen von Ferratta. Die Chroniken über die Ursprünge erzählen uns, dass Teobaldo, Bruder von Ottopert von Habsburg, der erste Graf von Ferretto war, der im achten Jahrhundert lebte. Der letzte dieser Herren war ein Graf Ulrich, und der Kaiser von Deutschland selbst trug in Wahrheit neben anderen Titeln den des Comes Ferrettis, wie unzweifelhaft aus dem Diplom Rudolfs II. vom 24.
