Ancienne et très noble famille de Campanie, appelée Fusco, Fosco ou Foschi, toutes variantes du même patronyme, qui s'est répandue au cours des siècles dans diverses régions d'Italie. Huit évêques appartenaient à cette famille, agrégée à la noblesse de Ravello en 1743, dont Angelotto, commendataire de Cava, élu cardinal en 1432 par le pape Eugène IV ; Nicola, seigneur d'Acerno, échanson de Charles III d'Anjou ; Nicola, seigneur de Valenzano, trésorier général du roi Ladislao D'Angiò Durazzo. La famille a également été agrégée à la noblesse des lettres au XIXe siècle, reconnue admissible dans les gardes du corps royaux en la personne de Frédéric, qui en tant que 1er lieutenant du "3e Régiment d'infanterie Linea Principe" a participé à la campagne de 1860
