Sehr alte Abstammung lombardischen Ursprungs ließ sich zuerst in L'Aquila nieder, dessen Patriziat sie zugeschrieben wurde, und nach 1750 in Rom. 31. Dezember 1209 im Konsulat Mediolani, als Konsul Visconte de Reziolo, wurde zusammen mit seinen anderen Kollegen im Streit der Kirche von Monza gegen Filippo, Martino, Benedetto und Zanone, genannt Lepri, der gesamte Ort von Monguzzo, verurteilt, sie zu zwingen, sechzig zu zahlen Terzuoli. Clemens XIII. Verlieh Alessandro Lepri am 31. Juli 1766 den Titel eines Marquis. Pius VI. Verlieh den Mitgliedern der Familie Lepri am 3. Februar 1789 den Titel eines Marquis auf dem Land Rota. Das römische Patriziat erhielt die Familie am 23. April 1843 in der Person von Alexander, von dem Giovanni heiratete Giovanna vom Patrizier marquiert Naro Montoro. D'azzurro, al lepre corrente su una campagna al naturale, sormontato da un'aquila spiegata di nero, sostenuta da una trangla abbassata di rosso. L'araldista Amayden scrive nella sua opera "La storia delle famiglie romane" che questa famiglia Lepri fu scritta anche Leporibus.

Blasone della famiglia Lepri o Leporibus (secondo l'araldista Amayden ndr) da Roma. Il blasone è ricostruito da un disegno del pittore Giovanni Rust inserito nel "Libro d'oro della nobiltà romana" conservato presso l'archivio capitolino di Roma.
