Pretende-se que ela seja originalmente de Florença. Ele gozava de nobreza em Messina, do século XVI ao XVIII, e em Augusta. Um Pietro é anotado no nobre mestre de Mollica (lista XVI, ano 1602); a Cirino obteve, com o privilégio de 8 de junho de 1626, uma disputa do território de Pezzagrande e o título de barão; um Jerônimo foi capitão da justiça de Augusta em 1645-46; Giovanni Domenico Rosso, de Cirino, obteve uma investidura de Pezzagrande em 24 de agosto de 1662; Hércules Cirino, primogênito do anterior, foi investido em 4 de maio de 1673 do referido baronato.
