Große Mondovì-Familie mit sicheren Erinnerungen aus dem 13. Jahrhundert, weit verbreitet mit zahlreichen Jerusalemer Rittern. Ein Zweig zog nach Frankreich, nach Lyon, wo er einen Palast und die Lordschaften von Croix und Grange in Bressa hatte. Die erstgeborene Linie hat für den Vorfahren einen Giambattista, der der Autor der Cigliaro-Linie war, die im 17. Jahrhundert in den Captis ausgestorben war, Erben des Lehens, bekannt in der Geschichte für die zu berühmte Virginia Pallavicino, Frau von Gian Antonio Pensa und Zeugin der Umberti. Die im 18. Jahrhundert ausgestorbene Linie von Giambattista wurde 1616 in der Person von Gianfrancesco mit dem Titel "Komital" versehen. Giampaolo setzte die Linie mit einer breiten Abstammung fort, die um 1750 in Graf Giuseppe Maria endete. Cimiero: Il liocorno d'argento nascente. Sostegni: Due liocorni d'argento, affrontati, controrampanti, tenenti ciascuno un guidone fustato d'argento al drappo divisato con gli stemmi Pensa a destra e Maillard a sinistra. Per gli ultrogeniti i liocorni dei sostegni non reggono guidone. Motto: Humble et Courtois.
