Une branche s'installe en France, à Lyon, où elle possède le palais et les seigneuries de la Croix et de la Grange en Bressa. La lignée aînée a pour géniteur un Giambattista qui fut l'auteur de la lignée Cigliaro, éteinte au XVIIe siècle dans le Captis, héritiers du fief, connu dans l'histoire pour la trop célèbre Virginia Pallavicino, épouse de Gian Antonio Pensa et procréateur des Umberti. Inquartato: nel primo e quarto controinquartato: di rosso al leone d'oro con la banda attraversante, dell'uno nell'altro (Leone); e bandato d'argento e di rosso; nel secondo e terzo d'azzurro all'uccello albanese d'argento, beccato e piotato di rosso, volante in banda (Mailard); sul tutto di Pensa, che è: bandato d'argento e di azzurro, al capo del secondo sostenuto d'oro, caricato di tre stelle dello stesso, ordinate in fascia; con la facoltà al capo di nome e d'arme di sostituire al quarto Maillard il pennone d'arme dello stesso casato (Riconoscimento 27 marzo 1887). Cimiero: Il liocorno d'argento nascente. Sostegni: Due liocorni d'argento, affrontati, controrampanti, tenenti ciascuno un guidone fustato d'argento al drappo divisato con gli stemmi Pensa a destra e Maillard a sinistra. Per gli ultrogeniti i liocorni dei sostegni non reggono guidone. Motto: Humble et Courtois.
