Família antiga e nobre originária de Savona. Buongiovanni, Vassallo e Castelletto estão entre os cidadãos genoveses que juraram paz com Pisa em 1188. Ogerio em 1380 e Bartolomeo em 1391 foram conselheiros da República. Gaspare foi embaixador do Duque de Milão em 1488, governador da Córsega em 1489, idoso em 1493 e 1525. Matriculou-se no Di Negro em 1528. Outro ramo. Antiga e nobre família de Settimo Vittone. A presença do lema na bibliografia documentada da família confirma a nobreza ancestral da família. De facto, a origem do lema remonta por volta do século XIV e deve ser procurada naqueles ditos espirituosos que se inscreviam nos estandartes ou bandeiras dos cavaleiros, expostos nas janelas das estalagens em que se hospedavam, por ocasião de torneios, e durante os próprios torneios.
