E' questa, senza eccezione, la più potente ed illustre fam. del Comitato Vicentino. E' probabilmente di origine germanica, in quanto ritiensi importata in Italia da un Corrado, che era al seguito dell'imper. Ottone I. I documenti dei sec. XI e XII la mettono in evidenza come gente forte e rispettata specialmente nelle zone dove esercitava il potere vice-comitale per conto del comes, e precisamente nella valle dell'Agno. Tutti i privilegi giurisdizionali ed onorifici che le erano comunque pervenuti e specialmente concessi a Nicolò, vicario imperiale nel Vicentino, ma sopratutto il godimento dei castelli di diretto dominio del Vescovo, e sino allora in suo possesso, furono confermati dall'imper. Federico II con Diploma 4 aprile 1236, che riconosceva altresì la dignità comitale in persona dei nobili Zuffredo ed Uguccione, detti de Alemania, figli di un Miglioranza, chiamato il Valoroso, e che fu capostipite di uno dei due rami principali nei quali
