Ancient and very noble family of Germany, of clear and ancestral virtue, spread over the centuries in various regions of Europe and the world. The clear nobility of this house is further confirmed by its presence in some of the most valuable works of European heraldry, including: "Johann Siebmachers allgemeines großes und vollständiges Wappenbuch", an essential reference for the nobility of the Holy Roman Empire, compiled by the German heraldist Johann Ambrosius Siebmacher (1561–1611), and "Armorial général" by the Dutch heraldist and genealogist Johannes Rietstap (1828-1891), a European armorial monument containing the blazons of more than 130,000 coats of arms of European families. The first references to this illustrious family can be traced back to the late seventeenth century, as it is included among the nobles and landowners of the Land of Bavaria. Many of its exponents then successfully dedicated themselves to the exercise of legal professions. But there was no lack of men of letters, of the church and of arms.
