The Grabinski family of ancient Polish nobility recognizes Giovanni Grabinski, the Rospiriense castle in 1458, senator of Poland and lord of Grabno and Gorki as the progenitor. His grandson Giovanni (dec. The nephew of the said Stanislao, Gioacchino Giuseppe established his family in Bologna; he was general of the Napoleonic army and from his marriage to Anna Maria Brogli (27 March 1811) he inherited the titles of count and baron of Armera (Venetian concession of 16 December 1785 to the noble Donà family, from whom they inherited the Brogli). His son Enrico married the marquise Sofia Potenziani, patrician of Rieti, and had several children: Giuseppe (born in 1849), Giovanni Antonio (born in 1850), Ludovico (born in 1855) and Stanislao (born in 1857). The said Giovanni Antonio (born in 1850, deced in Rome, 19 March 1899), following the will of his maternal ancestor, the Marquis Basilio Potenziani, left the surname and assumed and transmitted to his children the Potenzian surname and weapons ( Royal authorization dated February 17, 1887). He was senator of the Kingdom and with Royal decree of 14 June 1891 he obtained the title of prince on the surname. On 24 August 1872 he married Maria Spada Veralli and Ravaschieri, the eldest sister of Fr Federico Spada Veralli, prince of Castel Viscardo and head of this very noble family.
