Tuvo su primitivo solar en la villa de Lazcano, del partido judicial de Tolosa (Guipúzcoa), de donde salieron varias ramas. Pedro Vitales hace mención de una de ellas que se estableció en Aragón. Flórez de Ocáriz en su obra "Genealogías del Nuevo Reino de Granada", tomo II, fol. 504, árbol 18, párrafo 33, cita otra rama establecida en Madrid, de la que fué doña Ana María de Torres y A. (hija de Diego de Torres y A.), que casó con Pedro Fuerte de la Plaza. Éste pasó por los años de 1619 a desempeñar el cargo de Relator de la Chancillería de Santa Fe de Bogotá (Colombia), y luego fué Alcalde mayor de las minas de plata de Laxaes. Otra rama se estableció en Portugal, y de ella fué Lope de A., Chanciller mayor de aquella Corona. Este linaje entroncó con el de Arizcorreta por el matrimonio de Francisco de Arizcorreta con doña María Brígida de A., de los cuales fué hijo Joaquín de Arizcorreta y A., que hizo información de hidalguía en Madrid en 1777. ...
