Antica ed assai nobile famiglia di Ferrara, di chiara ed avita virtù, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia. Da Antonio, di Gio. Battista, nacque a Ferrara, il 14 dicembre 1728, Cesare che, dal 1775 al 1795, appartenne al second'ordine del Consiglio centumvirale ed ebbe inoltre il grado e gli onori di capitano delle truppe pontificie.
