Très ancienne famille bourgeoisie de Mende. Jacques, marchand de Mende, épousa Louise Ynard. Celle-ci était veuve en 1571. Il fut père de: Pierre, seigneur de Pelouse et la Salesse, docteur ès droits, juge de la baronnie du Tournel, qu'il représenta souvent aux Etats du Gévaudan. Il fut consul de Mende en 1592. Il épousa Anne d'Hébrard, qui lui porta les terres de Pelouse et la Salesse. Il laissa de son mariage: 1° Jean, qui suit; 2° Marguerite, mariée, le 11 février 1623, à Jean Gazanhe; Jean, docteur és droits, seigneur de Pelouse et la Salesse, mort en 1639, épousa: 1° le 15 février 1631, Catherine de Roux; 2° le 17 février 1635, Jeanne de Bardon. Il mourut sans postérité et laissa son héritage à sa sœur Marguerite. Autre famille de cette nomoccupait, au XVIIIème siècle, un rang modeste dans la bourgeoisie de Villefort. En 1799 Hyacinthe acheta, au marquis d'Altier du Champ, la seigneurie de Serres.
