Ancienne chevalerie originaire du Forez, possessionnée à Beauzac en Velay et relatée depuis Artaud, damoiseau, vivant en 1292. On trouve son nom diversement écrit Aboin, d'Aboin et anciennement Albuyn (Albuin). Eustache, chevalier, est cité en 1320, dans un hommage à l'évêque du Puy concernant la paroisse de Beauzac. Maintenue dans sa noblesse (1668). Convoquée aux assemblées de la senéchaussée du Forez (1789). Un de ses membres: Jean-Thomas de Cordes, ancien capitaine d'infanterie, chevalier de Saint-Louis, périt sur l'échafaud le 19 mars 1794. A ce nom, on attribue un signe distinctif de noblesse représenté par le blason que l'on a reproduit ci-contre et qui confirme aussi à travers ses emblêmes, au point de vue historique et héraldique la certitude d'une valeur remarquable.
