Chevalerie vellave qui compte parmi ses membres: les seigneurs d'Ebde (paroisse de Malrevers), de la Lèche, de Loptha, de Faugères, de Rodesse, de la Loche, de Vernusses, de Saunac, etc, coseigneurs de Servissac, etc. Bertrand et Deodora son épouse, consentent l'an 985, une donation a l'abbaye de St-Théofrède du Monastier. Autre Bertrand Ebde, fils de Pons, chevalier, rend hommage le 12 juin 1309, de son château d'Ebde et dépendances, ainsi que de divers autres fiefs sis dans le mandement de Mercoeur, à Bernard de Castanet, évêque du Puy. Hommages analogues par le même personnage en 1321, 1327 et 1344. Catherine de Bouzols, vicomtesse de Polignac, le nomme l'un de ses exécuteurs testamentaires (1332). Il vivait encore en 1344. Après lui on trouve: noble Gilles, fils de feu Berard et bailli du château épiscopal d'Yssingeaux, qui rend hommage en 1347 à l'évêque du Puy; noble Egide, chevalier (1347-1362); noble Bertrand, seigneur d'Ebde (1368), parfois qualifié seigneur de St-Quentin; noble Eustache (1473); Claude, seigneur d'Ebde (1510); Guyot (1518). Dès 1415, Guigone, dame d'Ebde avait épousé noble Jean du Monteils. ...
