Nel 1235 il conte Pietro Lanzera, figlio del conte Guido, fu espulso dalla città perchè ghibellino, e si rifugiò in Verona presso Eccelino; ma caduto in sospetto dell'imperatore,questi nel 1239 si appressò con buon nerbo di armati al castello di Ganzerla e lo costrinse ad arrendersi. Condotto a Verona, di là fu mandato prigioniero a Cremona. Il Conte Giacomo Lanzera comandante la milizia vicentina, e morì in un fatto d'armi sul Veronese. Nel 1290 Singofredo, insime eal proprio figlio Novello, fu fatto uscire dalla città di Vicenza per ordine dei Padovani perchè aderente al partito ghibellino. Rifugiatosi a Cipro, si acconciò al servizio di quel re per 20 anni, e nel 1311 si recò ambasciatore di questo alla corte del Papa e a quella del re di Francia.
