En el Archivio Real de Barcelona se conservan grandes memorias de los individuos de este linaje, y entre ellas, un privilegio del rey don Jaime I de Aragón, otorgado a Miguel M. para premiar su valor en la conquista de Valencia. Cuenta la tradición que una dama de este apellido llamada doña Juana M., esposa de Miguel Garcerán Dami, habiendo sabido que su hijo Pedro Dami M. se inclinaba al partido de Francia le quitó la vida.
