Nobility crown Mozo De La TorreNoble y antigua familia castellana. Tuvo su casa solar en la villa de Grijota, del partido judicial de Palencia. Una rama pasó a la Isla de Cuba, estableciéndose en la ciudad de Santiago. Ignacio M. de la Torre, natural y vecino de Grijota, contrajo matrimonio con doña Isabel Texedor, y fueron padres de Francisco M. de la Torre, natural de Grijota y sacerdote, que pasó a Cuba con su hermano Antonio. Fué Deán de la Catedral de Santiago; y Antonio M. de la Torre y Texedor, que sigue. Este Antonio M. de la Torre y Texedor, nació en Grijota, y, como ya hemos indicado, pasó con su hermano Francisco a Santiago de Cuba, en donde fué Coronel de Infantería de los Reales Ejércitos y del Batallón llamado de Voluntarios Blancos de Cuba y Bayamo. También fué Brigadier y Gobernador Militar Interino de Santiago de Cuba en 1814. El 6 de Enero de 1773 había casado en la catedral de dicha población con doña Mariana Garvey y López del Castillo (hija del Caballero Regidor del Ayuntamiento de Santiago de Cuba Juan Francisco Garvey y Echavarría y de doña Francisca Antonia López del Castillo y Mustelier), naciendo de esa unión Isabel M. de la Torre y Garvey, que casó en la Catedral de Santiago de Cuba el 21 de Julio de 1799 con José Mariano Sánchez Griñan y López del Castillo, Coronel de Milicias de aquella plaza y caballero de la Orden de San Hermenegildo, hijo de Francisco Sánchez Griñan y Díez, Coronel de los Reales Ejércitos, y Sargento Mayor de Milicias de Santiago de Cuba y Cruz. ...
