En el barrio de Muncharaz (cuyo nombre tomó), de la villa de Abadiano y partido de Durango (Vizcaya), tuvo casa armera. Son sus armas: Dos leones rampantes, afrontados, desenrollan en juego un ovillo, o madeja, formando con su hilo dos círculos concéntricos, de los cuales parten cuatro óvalos en cruz, acompañados en el jefe de un castillo, y en punta, de un aspa, bajo la cual está el águila explayada con la cabeza vuelta hacia el flanco izquierdo del escudo. Así las describe Juan Carlos de Guerra, pero omite los esmaltes. El mismo autor dice que sobre la vetusta torre de Abadiano se ve escrito, en letras góticas, sobre el escudo de M., este mote: "Estos biben e bibieron guardando la honra e fama que tobieron". El estudio del escudo heráldico familiar nos "habla" de quienes formaron el origen de la familia M., pues esa era su función, la de manifestar a los demás sus elementos diferenciales, pues la inclusión del elemento cruz es la primera figura utilizada en heráldica y su significado es la relación de sus miembros con la fé y la expansión del cristianismo.
