Heraldic trace of family: Robbiano Ancient and noble family from Lombardy, with main residence in the city of Milan but originally from Robbiano, today a geographical fraction of the Italian town of Giussano, that has worldwide spread, over the centuries. Initially known as Bianchi, the family began to be called Robbiano precisely because of the hometown. The founder of the family is a Domenico and his son Maffeo was the father of Giovanni. The latter was Chancellor of the Salt and, in 1625, married firstly Anna Maria Besana and then Lucia Rinaldi. His son Giuseppe, from his marriage to Margherita Dossena in 1671 had: Filippo, husband of Caterina Ponzina, Ottavio and Teresa, married to Francesco Benaglia. of painted terra-cottas but some also devoted themselves to the liberal professions, such as advocacy and notary. Lacking the original descriptions of the family coats of arms, they have been reconstructed based on heraldic conjecture. But, based on what has been handed down to us, we believe it should be: "Argent, on a fesse azure three bezants or". The argent, in fact, symbolizes purity, tenderness, temperance, mercy, kindness, the desire to win and the talent of eloquence; the tincture azure symbolizes water, the continuity of life, it is a colour of nobility, beauty, chastity and fidelity; the bezant, an ancient coin, is symbol of justice and wealth. Family names so old, without any doubt honour not only families but also the cities that welcomed them; seems to be, in fact, very worthy the living members of this family which, with much decorum, carry this noble surname, which has had several illustrious members.
