Caballeros de este linaje probaron su nobleza en las Ordenes de Santiago y Carlos III, en la Real Chancillería de Valladolild y varias veces en la Real Compañía de Guardias Marinas. Don Nicolás de la R. fue creado Conde de Vega Florida en 17 de mayo de 1706. Don José María Pinto de la R., nació en La Laguna el 21 de agosto de 1893 y recibió las aguas bautismales en el Sagrario-Catedral el 11 de noviembre siguiente. Fue General de Brigada del Cuerpo de Ingenieros e Ingeniero Naval, Caballero condecorado con la Gran Cruz de San Hermenegildo, con las Cruces del Mérito Militar, Mérito Naval, de Guerra y otras varias distinciones y, por último, fue General Jefe de Ingenieros del Cuerpo de Ejército de Aragón. Casó con Doña María de los Dolores Berta Francisca Blanca de Quintana y Nelson, nacida en Las Palmas el primero de junio de 1904, celebrándose el enlace en la parroquia de San Agustín de esta ciudad, el 23 de febrero de 1928. Nacieron de este matrimonio tres hijos: Doña María de las Nievas, Don Pedro María y Doña Josefa María Berta de los Dolores Pinto y Quintana. El General Pinto era hermano de Don Francisco, Doctor en Ciencias Físicas y Astrónomo del Observatorio de Madrid; de Don Pedro Pinto de la R., Licenciado en Derecho, Secretario de Gobierno de la Audiencia de Santa Cruz de Tenerife e inspirado poeta regional y de Doña María de los Dolores. ...
