Nobility crown SangiménezPor referencias de historiadores de la época y otras averiguadas por Araldis en los archivos registrales de ciudades y otros privados, podríamos afirmar, pero no asegurar, que este escudo u otro muy similar a él, apareció inicialmente desde el siglo XI al XIV, particularmente en la repoblación de Estella, fines del siglo XII, siendo una de las familias a residir intramuros de la ciudad. Las referencias de esta familia parecen precisarse con más frecuencia desde el siglo XV al XIX en especial los hechos de el gobierno del virreynato del Perú, siendo asesor y colaborador de Don Gaspar de Zúñiga, quinto conde de Monterrey. Todo ello parece coincidir con la memoria familiar de algunos de los miembros de la rama de la familia Sangiménez. Son sus armas: Terciado en faja. Primero: De gules. Segundo: De plata, y tercero: De azur. El estudio del escudo heráldico familiar nos "habla" de quienes formaron el origen de la familia S., pues esa era su función, la de manifestar a los demás sus elementos diferenciales, pues la inclusión del elemento faja quiere decir que pertenecieron a órdenes militares de caballería.
