Elle compte parmi ses membres les seigneurs de Sedages, de Marmagnac, de Roquenatou, coseigneurs de Vic, seigneurs de Vacheresse, paroisse de Siaugues-Saint-Romain (confins de l'Auvergne et du Velay). Pierre, gentilhomme du comte de Rodez, vivait en 1230. Autre Pierre et Astorg sont cités en 1284 et 1290. Reymond, damoiseau, père de Hugues (1350), rendit hommage en 1338 à l'abbé d'Aurillac. Sa postérité, encore existante au XIXème siècle, était possessionnée à Siaugues-St-Romain et à La Voûte-Chilhac. Convoquée aux bans de 1596 et de 1636 et, en 1789, aux assemblées de la noblesse d'Auvergne. Beaux services militaires. A ce nom, on attribue un signe distinctif de noblesse représenté par le blason que l'on a reproduit ci-contre et qui confirme aussi à travers ses emblêmes, au point de vue historique et héraldique la certitude d'une valeur remarquable. ...
