On trouve le nom de cette maison diversement écrit Tallon où Talon. Nicolas, du pays de Carladès, ayant épousé avant 1550 Marguerite de Sermur (soeur de Jean seigneur de la Besserette), dame de Cadilhac près Le Mur-de-Barrès, hérita de cette seigneurie. Son fils, Antoine, fut substitué à la maison de Sermur de Cadilhac, devint médecin ordinaire du roi et fut anobli. Il se fixa au Puy en 1573, par mariage avec Clémence Farnier, fut nommé premier consul de cette ville (1599) et se trouve peint avec ses armes, sur le tableau votif, conservé de nos jours au Musée religieux de Notre-Dame. Pierre Talon de Cadilhac seigneur de Marquès en Velay, veuf de sa cousine Louise, se remaria le 23 août 1633 avec Claire de Bertrand. Il fut consul du Puy en 1610 et 1619 et testa le 8 décembre 1643, laissant: 1° Modeste qui suit; 2° Antoine seigneur de la Ribeyre (1643), marié à Marie d'Allès de Montfaucon; 3° Guillaume; 4° Christophe et trois filles. Noble Modeste Talon de Cadilhac, issu de son premier mariage, docteur en médecine, mourut près de Narbonne, faisant partie de l'arrière-ban pour le service du roi. D'Angelique de Pollalion, qu'il avait épousée le 14 février 1638, il n'eut qu'une fille, Isabeau, alliée à Antoine de Lobeyrac. ...
