Famiglia originaria di Napoli, portata a Crema da un Alberto nel 1140. Appartenente alla fazione guelfa e per conseguenza fu partigiana dei Benzoni. Nell'adunanza in cui Giorgio Benzone fu proclamato signore di Crema intervennero otto individui della famiglia Zurlacco, e di questi un Enrico fu podestà di Crema durante il dominio del suddetto Giorgio. Sotto la Repubblica Veneta, la famiglia occupò quasi ogni anno un posto fra i tre provveditori della città. Placido, monaco camaldolese, fu creato cardinale di S. R. Chiesa da Pio VII nel 1823. Con diploma 12 Nov. 1669 Achille e Luigi ottennero dall'imperatore Leopoldo I d'Austria i titoli di marchesi, conti e cavalieri dell'impero. La famiglia ottenne la conferma dei titoli di nobile di Crema (mf.) e di marchese, conte e cavaliere del Sacro Romano Impero (mf.), in persona di Achille, figlio di Ranuzio, con Sovrana Risoluzione 14 maggio 1819 su proposta della I.R.
