Note: Fra le principali della città di Cento, prese parte alle fazioni che quivi infierirono nel 15 io e che si combattettero con tanta ferocia da costringere Ercole II duca di Ferrara di porvi a bada due squadre di soldati a fine di tutelare la quiete publica. Viveano nel 1403 Antonio di ser Massio, Petronio di Jacopo e Jacopo di Massio che formavano tre distinte famiglie, e furono tra quei Centesi che nel 1 Apr. dello stesso anno si assoggettarono al dominio di Nanni e Bonifacio Gozzadini. Carlo Scala ne! 1486-87 fu podestà di Sassuolo, e fu uno dei tre deputati assistenti alla riforma degli statuti di Cento.
