Note: Famiglia forse originaria di Brescia. Per distinguerla da altre famiglie, talvolta il cognome è «Bartoli Agorai» oppure «Bartoli Vaiai», entrambi con riferimento all'attività svolta. Si trova anche il cognome «Bartoli Cerbini», assunto da Marco Gervasio Bartoli (1744-1800) per eredità di Alessandra Cerbini, moglie di Alessandro Bartoli nel 1639. Nel fascicolo sono presenti alcuni esemplari con evidenti errori di copisti: ad esempio quelli riportati nel Manoscritto 476 recano un troncato merlato oppure un tagliato merlato, anziché un trinciato merlato. Sul palazzo Pretorio di Certaldo, lo stemma del vicario Piero di Matteo Bartoli (1537) reca in capo una palla caricata di tre gigli, 1.2.
