Blasone della famiglia Politi, de Politis o Polito in Sicilia. Fonte bibliografica: "Nobiliario di Sicilia" di Antonio Mango di Casalgerardo (Palermo, A. Reber, 1912) custodito presso la biblioteca centrale della regione Sicilia. Note: Godette nobiltà in Palermo, Messina, Mazzara; possedette il censo feudale di annue onze 32 sul feudo Pietrabianca. Un Cristofaro fu giudice straticoziale di Messina negli anni 1461-62-63, 1476-77, 1486-87, 1489-90; un Girolamo tenne la stessa carica negli anni 1491-92, 1494-95; un Giovanni Andrea fu giurato in Mazzara nel 1533-34; un Nicolò fu capitano di giustizia in detta città nel 1566-67; un Pietro fu portulanotto del porto e caricatore di Mazzara nel 1572; un Giuseppe fu giudice pretoriano di Palermo negli anni 1655-56, 1670-71, del tribunale della Gran Corte nel 1663 e del Concistoro nel 1668; un Carlo fu giurato di Mazzara nel 1706-7. Non sappiamo se sia appartenuto a questa stessa famiglia quell’Ignazio, che occupò la carica di capitano di giustizia in Termini negli anni 1797-98 e 1805-6.
