La casa solar infanzonada del apellido A. fué llamada antiguamente Abinhal. Escriben de ella, entre otros autores, D. Diego de Urbina, cronista y Rey de armas de Felipe III, en certificación que dió el 10 de Enero de 1599; D. Antonio Villasboas, en su "Nobiliarquía portuguésa", y el "Nobiliario manuscrito de Portugal", que tenía en su archivo el Rey Don Duarte, en el folio 118, y todos aseguran que procede este linaje de A. de dos hermanos llamados Juan y Santiago A., quienes acompañando al Rey Don Pelayo, acreditaron su valor en las continuas luchas que mantuvo aquel Monarca. Retirados de la guerra, hicieron su asiento el uno en Castilla y el otro en Andalucía. De estos dos hermanos han procedido muchos caballeros en España con el congnomen de A., y en Portugal con el de Abinhal. En nuestra Patria se extendieron por las dos Castillas, Aragón, Galicia y Andalucía; pero las que más lustre alcanzaron fueron las dos líneas radicadas desde tiempo inmemorial en el lugar de Maluenda, de la Comunidad de Calatayud, obispado de Tarazona, y de las que han salido Obispos y caballeros de las cuatro Ordenes militares, y religiosos como fray Antonio A., Comisario general de la Orden de San Francisco. De una de estas dos esclarecidas ramas procedió también Juan A., natural de Maluenda, caballero hijodalgo notorio, que casó con doña Juana Ballano, y tuvieron por hijo a Martín A., nacido a Maluenda en 1681.
