Elle a fourni deux hauts fonctionnaires sous le premier Empire et la Restauration: Un ministre, sénateur, pair de France, et un commissaire général de la police sous Napoléon I: il y eut des Abrial à Saint-Symphorien-de-Mahun, à St-Martin de Valamas. Arcens. etc., paraissant appartenir à une souche commune. Andre-Joseph, comte de l'Empire, né à Annonay le 19 mars 1750, mort à Paris le 14 septembre 1828, prit part à la rédaction du Code Napoléon; ministre de la Justice, sénateur sous l'Empire, pair de France sous la Restauration. Son fils, né en 1783, préfet du Gers et du Finistère, est mort, après son père, le 26 décembre 1840. A. Steyert, dans son Nouvel Armorial du Lyonnais, donne une généalogie complète de cette maison qu'il remonte à Jean, mort en 1657. Cette maison est représentée à Paris; à Montech (Tarn-et-Garonne) Par Madame la vicomtesse de Villèle; à Saint-Martin-de-Vallamas, en Vivarais, par Martin, greffier du tribunal civil de Romans. ...
